Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum has revealed that about 100,000 Nigerians displaced to Chad, Niger and Cameroon by terrorism in the Northeast have so far been repatriated since the exercise began in 2020.
Borno state Governor who disclosed this to newsmen after a meeting with President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, said with the relative peace and security experienced in the state, plans are underway to recommence the repatriation of more Nigerians living in neighbouring countries.
Our correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the Governor added that Mr President has approved the take off of the Federal College of Education located in Gwoza.
Commenting on the increased kidnapping of students from schools in parts of Northern Nigeria and efforts of his administration, Governor Zullum said the successful implementation of the Safe School initiative in the state has helped to curb the ugly trends of kidnappings by terrorists.
