UNILAG HOST PELUMI NUBI ON ARRIVAL TO NIGERIA WITH CALL ON WOMEN TO ACHIEVE GREATNESS

Content creator Pelumi Nubi who embarked on a solo road trip from London to Lagos, has arrived in Nigeria to a rousing welcome.


Pelumi who had spent sixty seven days on the trip which began on the 31st of January in London and ended on the 7th of April at the University of Lagos, Akoka.


Speaking at the reception organized by the University of Lagos for the 28-year-old Pelumi, she highlighted some challenges faced during her journey to include car accident she had in Ivory Coast, noting the essence of her to trip was to change the narrative about insecurity in Africa and to encourage more Africans to leave their comfort zone and explore the continent.


Vice Chancellor, University of Lagos, Folasade Ogunsola likened Pelumi’s journey to the resilient spirit of Nigerians stressing that Pelumi’s journey is not only inspiring but her action has made her a great addition to the list of notable Nigerian women who has challenged the regular situations of things and succeeded.


The Chairman, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa, also called on the Federal Government to confer a national award on Pelumi Nubi stressing she is a motivation to many Nigerian youths.


She however added that Pelumi’s car should be preserved in an historical museum.
