Countering various insinuations from different quarters, President Bola Tinubu, today, reaffirmed his unreserved confidence in his Chief of Staff, Honourable Femi Gbajabiamila.
Recently, viral reports that Gbajabiamila may soon be replaced due to allegations of trading government appointments have been circulating in the social media.
However, reacting to the speculations, President Tinubu, who spoke just before the commencement of the week’s Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting inside Council Chambers at the Presidential Villa, expressed his willingness to admit mistakes and urged the nation to join hands in the fight against corruption.
Tinubu said, “I have absolute confidence of integrity of my Chief of Staff. All campaigns of calumny and insinuations should stop, the buck stops here. If I make mistakes, I am ready to own up to it.”
Displaying a high level of firmness, Mr President also set the ground rules for the attendance of the FEC meeting, as he read riot act, warning unauthorized persons from gaining access into the Council Chambers of the State House.
