United States of America’s President Joe Biden has expressed his support for Nigeria’s pursuit of a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, recognizing the country’s leadership role in Africa and its contributions to global peacekeeping efforts.
Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, made this known to State House Correspondents following a 30-minute phone call between Biden and Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday.
According to Tuggar, President Biden also acknowledged the recent release of Tigran Gambaryan, an executive from the cryptocurrency exchange Binance.
Tuggar stressed that the call underscores the commitment of both leaders to advancing mutual security, economic growth, and representation on the global stage.
