President Bola Tinubu expressed profound sadness upon learning of the passing of two renowned Nigerian comic actors, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, and Quadri Oyebamiji, affectionately called Sisi Quadri.
In a statement released by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, on Sunday, Tinubu extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the late actors. He acknowledged the significant contributions of Mr Ibu and Sisi Quadri to Nigeria’s entertainment industry, noting how they brought joy and laughter to millions of Nigerians through their exceptional talent and performances.
President Tinubu also conveyed his condolences to the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), and the entire creative community. He assured them of his unwavering support, thoughts, and prayers during this period of mourning.
Meanwhile, Sisi Quadri, who passed away after a brief illness on Friday, March 1, has been laid to rest in his hometown in the Agbowo area of Iwo. The burial ceremony was attended by family, friends, and colleagues from the entertainment industry, who paid their last respects to the late actor.
