The Director General of the National Senior citizens Centre (NSCC), Emem Omokaro, has reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to improving the lives of senior citizens across Nigeria, stating that investing in them will drive economic development nationwide.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the Commissioner for Special Duties of Anambra State, Beverly Ikpeazu Nkemdiche, at the agency’s headquarters in Abuja, Omokaro highlighted the benefits of engaging retired and aged individuals to tap into their knowledge and experience, in order to enable the government to reshape policies and improve the economy.
The Commissioner expressed Anambra State’s interest in partnering with NSCC to address challenges related to ageing and ensure senior citizens receive necessary care and support.
She stressed the need for federal and state governments to collaborate in addressing the unique needs of the growing elderly population.
