The Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) has introduced a 90-day window for the regularization of import duties on specific categories of vehicles. 

This initiative, undertaken under the directive of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, aims to address instances where the requisite customs duty has not been fulfilled or vehicles have been detained due to undervaluation.

In a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Maiwada, on Sunday, the NCS clarified that the regularization applies exclusively to vehicles imported into Nigeria under the specified conditions. Vehicle owners, importers, and agents seeking to regularize import duties on their vehicles are instructed to apply to the designated Zonal Coordinators (Zones A, B, C, D) and the CAC FCT Command.

Applicants are required to submit the necessary documents and follow the prescribed process for vehicle registration, known as Vreg, in accordance with directives from the Federal Ministry of Finance. 

This move by the NCS aims to streamline customs procedures and ensure compliance with import duty regulations, ultimately facilitating smoother operations for vehicle owners and importers.
