The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, Brig Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), has affirmed that the agency is fully prepared to arrest drug traffickers and intercept canoes and boats transporting illicit drugs from other countries into Nigeria.
Marwa made this statement while decorating eight officers with their new ranks for their professional conduct during a recent operation that led to the arrest of a 30-year-old Ghanaian drug trafficker, Hambo Tete, in Lagos.
He noted that the officers’ actions resulted in the seizure of 60 bags of Ghanaian Loud, a potent strain of cannabis, weighing 2,400 kgs.
Addressing the promoted officers and their colleagues across all commands and formations, Marwa urged them to maintain the agency’s current momentum and protect the integrity of their work by being vigilant in their duties, both on and off the job.
