The Board, Nigerian Correctional Service, the Nigerian Immigration Service, the Federal Fire Service, and the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, has suspended senior officers of the service, to allow for further investigation on the various allegations against them.
The Board Secretary, Ja’afaru Ahmed, in a statement said the officers: Michael Anugwa and Sikiru Adekunle, both Deputy-Controller of corrections, in-charge of Medium and Maximum Security Custodial Centre, Kiri-kiri, Lagos, were suspended following a viral video relating to Idris Okuneye, better known as Bobrisky.
The board has also suspended ASC II Ogbule Obinna, serving at the Medium Security Custodial Centre, Afikpo, Ebonyi State, for allegedly escorting a convicted inmate out of the custodial centre to a location outside the facility, while the board equally suspended another senior officer of the service, Iloafonsi Ikechukwu, Deputy-Controller of Corrections (DCC), in-charge of Medium Security Custodial Centre (MSCC), Kuje- Abuja, for allegedly receiving monies on behalf of an inmate.
