Ahead of the upcoming general election, the Military high command has said the armed forces of Nigeria will be on standby to clear out any unwanted acts during and after the general polls.
The Director, Defence Media Operations, Maj.- Gen. Musa Danmadami who made the disclosure today while reviewing the progress of military operations across the country in Abuja, said there is no cause for concern, noting that the military will remain apolitical and would work with the police throughout the process.
Speaking on its operations against banditry and other sundry crimes, Gen. Musa said its troops of Operation Safe Haven rescued 36 kidnapped civilians and arrested several terrorist logistics suppliers across the North Central region of the country within 2 weeks.
On the effort to stamp out economic saboteurs across the country’s creeks and waterways, the director said its troops arrested 40 suspected economic saboteurs, recovered 3-speed boats, 13 vehicles, 274,000 litres of crude oil and destroyed 39 illegal refining sites amongst others.
