The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced that sixteen political parties have notified the commission of their intention to participate in the upcoming Edo State Governorship Election.
The parties have submitted their schedules for primaries, in accordance with the timetable and schedule of activities released by INEC.
In a statement signed by National Commissioner & Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Sam Olumekun, the commission reminded parties of the requirement to give at least 21 days’ notice before the date fixed for their primaries, with the deadline having passed on February 4th, 2024.
INEC has also released the details of 33 Polling Units (PUs) where the Feb. 14 supplementary election would hold in Taraba and Enugu State.
Information Chairman, Olumekun said that the supplementary election would hold in 24 Polling units in three Local Government Areas (LGAs) making up the Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency of Taraba, and eight in Enugu State.
