The National Economic Council (NEC) has approved plans to revamp 17,000 and 774 primary and secondary healthcare centres, respectively, nationwide.
Briefing newsmen at the end of the NEC meeting chaired by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, said the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof Ali Pate charged the 36 states governors and FCT on the need to address the deteriorating healthcare ratings, the medical professionals migrations and to the bridge funding gaps in the health sector.
Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Abubakar Kyari disclosed that the Council adopted measures to help attain self-sufficiency in food production across the federation, adding that state governors have been urged to work towards revamping agriculture as well as end post-harvest loses.
