In a bid to address the food shortages experienced in the country, the Federal Government has approved the distribution of 20 trucks of Rice to all the 36 state Governors and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) for onward distribution to vulnerable Nigerians.
Briefing State House Correspondents after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by President Bola Tinubu in Abuja, Minister of Information and National Orientation Mohammed Idris disclosed that as part of efforts to ameliorate the economic challenges around the country, the Council is also ramping up the Agricultural sector to ensure enhanced food production, as well as poised to hasten the CNG-ENABLED Buses for the public usage.
The Minister however appealed to the sub-national to ensure effective distribution of the food items so that it gets to the people who need them.
Our correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the Minister stated that Mr President would hold a meeting with Organised Labour on Thursday tentatively, to continue further discussions, in order to arrive at an agreeable, reasonable New National Minimum wage Decision.
The Minister also clarified that there are no multiple budgets being implemented, noting that the Minister of Budget and Economic planning, Atiku Bagudu would submit an amendment act for the 2024 Supplementary budget to the National Assembly.
