The FCT Police Command has warned motorists against use of vehicles without valid licence plates, tinted glasses without permits, and vehicles with concealed, defaced or faded plate numbers, particularly SUVs, except top government officials.
The Command also warned against the use of fake diplomatic plate numbers by unauthorised persons.
Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi says the warning follows the proliferation of such vehicles used by criminal elements to evade detection and arrest.
In a statement by the Police Public Relations officer PPRO ASP Josephine Adeh, the CP directed officers across the FCT to intensify enforcement professionally and avoid extortion, warning that violators will be arrested and prosecuted.
