The EFCC has invited the suspended Minister Betta Edu, to its headquarters in Abuja, for questioning.
A source at the EFCC confirmed to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday that the suspended minister had been summoned and was expected to be at the commission’s office today Tuesday.
The invitation was sent to the suspended minister less than 30 minutes after President Tinubu announced her suspension from office.
Meanwhile, the EFCC quizzed Edu’s predecessor, Sadiya Farouq, on Monday, over an alleged laundering of N37.1 billion during her tenure as a minister under the administration of ex-President Muhammadu Buhari.
Farouq was still at the office of the EFCC as of 6pm on Monday. Her invitation is related to an ongoing investigation into the N37.1bn allegedly laundered during her time in office through a contractor identified as James Okwete.
