Arsenal miss chance to go top of EPL as West Ham win at Emirates

Sports

West Ham stunned Arsenal 2-nil last night to record a third successive Premier League victory, denting the Gunners’ title challenge in the process.

The result leaves Mikel Arteta’s Gunners second in the table, two points behind league leaders Liverpool, while West Ham end the year with 33 points – their highest total at the halfway stage in a Premier League campaign.

Also last night Brighton overcome Tottenham 4-2 in a dominant display.

The win sees Brighton climb above Newcastle into eighth, while Spurs stay fifth, a point behind fourth-placed Manchester City.
Next round of matches moves to the weekend.
