The Nigerian Senate has commenced debate on the general principles of the 2024 appropriation bill before the National Assembly.
President Bola Tinubu had on Wednesday presented a budget of N27.50 trillion to a joint session of the Senate and House of Representatives for consideration and passage.
Leading debate on the first of two days set aside for deliberations on the second reading of the appropriation bill, Senate Majority Leader, Opeyemi Bamidele, said the proposal is intended to further place the country’s economy on the path of inclusive and sustainable economic development.
Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that other lawmakers expressed their views on the proposed budget and the need to review the estimates to enhance the economic growth of the nation.
