Ahead of the 2023 general elections, the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmoud Yakubu has reassured Nigerians that there is no going back on the transmission of results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) in real-time on Election Day.
The INEC Chairman who made the disclosure today at the third quarterly meetings with political parties in Abuja, said the commission has also resolved to ensure that adequate Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) is deployed for voter accreditation.

Prof. Yakubu further noted that the PRELIMINARY register of voters in Nigeria now stands at 93,522,272 when the 9,518,188 new voters have been added to the existing register of 84,004,084 voters, explaining that it is preliminary because part of the Electoral Act 2022 requires the Commission to display the hard copies of the register of voters for each Registration Areas amongst others not later than 90 days to a General Election.
