Suspended Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara says he’s no longer interested in returning to power, stating his “spirit” has long departed the Government House.
Fubara, who made the remark during a service honoring late elder statesman Chief Edwin Clark, expressed a desire for peace, and cautioned against acts capable of escalating tensions in the state.
He stressed that as a leader, he was quite aware of the enormous responsibilities before him, and was doing what needed to be done within the ambit of the law to restore normalcy to move the state forward.
Fubara also advised his supporters to seek his consent before acting on his behalf, emphasizing restraint amid the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State.
