Vice President, Sen. Kashim Shettima has called on the judiciary to stay strong and resist pressure and blackmail.
The Vice President who gave the charge in Abuja on Wednesday while flagging off the maiden Body of Benchers Annual Lecture and public presentation of the report of the directions of the Legal Practitioners Disciplinary Committee, cautioned judges and other legal practitioners against yielding to the temptation of tinkering with the law to serve the selfish interests of persons he described as agents of anarchy.
He said justice must never be compromised, as it keeps Nigeria fair and stable.
Our correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that Chief Justice of Nigeria, Kudirat Kekere-Ekun and other legal experts stressed the need for honesty in the legal profession. Former Lagos Governor, Babatunde Fashola called for faster and fairer justice.
