The Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action, Ajuri Ngelale says a Combined members of the Environment and Tourism Organization (ETO), the National Climate Change Council (NCCC), and the Presidency has reviewed progress ahead of the cross-governmental engagements set to occur in the coming days.
Ngelale yesterday Tuesday hosted a virtual call with Michael Uwemedimo, who is spearheading a $100 million Global Environment Facility (GEF) project to be launch next year.
This project according to him, focuses on extensive mangrove forest regeneration in the Niger Delta to offset carbon emissions in collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
Additionally, a virtual call with Bloomberg Group Executive Nicky Keefe took place to discuss Nigeria’s participation in the B20 Business Forum in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and plans to drive value chain localization in renewable energy technologies.
