The Nigerian Senate today announced the removal of Senator Ali Ndume representing Borno South senatorial district as the Chief Whip of the Senate, replacing him with his Borno North counterpart, Tahir Mungono.
The decision was announced today at plenary after a letter of complaint against Senator Ndume by the leadership of the All Progressives Congress was read by the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.
Senator Ndume’s replacement by the Senate followed directive issued to that effect in a etter, written and signed by the National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje and the Secretary, Senator Ajibola Bashir, explaining that Senator Ndume in his capacity as Chief Whip was working to bring down the country through his unguarded utterances.
Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that Senator Ndume was also moved to Chair the Senate Committee on Tourism and stripped of his position as Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Appropriations.
