The Senate has summoned National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu and heads of all security agencies, to appear before it to address allegations of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on sponsoring Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria.
Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that the summons follows allegations made by US Republican Congressman Scott Perry, and at yesterday’s plenary Senator Ali Ndume raised a point of order emphasizing the urgent need for the matter to be investigated and the need for collaboration with security agencies to uncover the truth.
In his remarks, President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio questioned the continued presence of USAID in Nigeria if found to be Complicit, adding that the Security Chiefs should be summoned immediately
