Senate President, Godswill Akpabio has emphasized the need for a unified approach to tax reform in Nigeria, noting that the challenge extends beyond merely passing new laws.
Sen Akpabio who stated this during the opening of a two-day public hearing on tax reform bills, called on Nigerians to embrace the proposed tax reform bills, stressing that reforming Nigeria’s tax administration is key to the nation’s future prosperity.
Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that Chairman of the Finance Committee, Sen. Sani Musa, acknowledged concerns about marginalization, uneven sharing, and potential biases in tax administration and revenue allocation.
Minister of Finance and Coordination of economy, Wale Edun also emphasized the need for reforms in the nation’s tax administration to improve revenue generation for infrastructure development and economic growth.
