Morocco’s Renaissance Berkane sealed their third CAF Confederation Cup title in six seasons after a 1-1 draw with 10-man Simba SC of Tanzania on Sunday. Berkane had a 3-1 aggregate win, thanks to a two-goal first-leg cushion.
The match, controversially moved from Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar, ended Berkane’s Confederation Cup run as they shift focus to the CAF Champions League, having won the Moroccan league.
They also pocketed $2 million, with a shot at an extra $500,000 in the upcoming CAF Super Cup.
