President Tinubu tasks Security Agencies to step up action and end Insecurity

News

President Bola Tinubu has called upon the Nigerian military and other security agencies to bolster their
efforts in addressing the diverse security challenges facing the nation.

The statement was made during the induction ceremony of two TK-129 ATAK Helicopters and a King Air
360i Aircraft at Nigeria Air (NAF) Base, Makurdi, Benue state, on Tuesday.

Representing President Tinubu at the event, Vice President Kashim Shettima reiterated the
government’s unwavering support for the nation’s security forces, emphasizing the commitment to
modernizing fleets, enhancing training, and ensuring the welfare of personnel.

The induction of four additional Diamond-62 surveillance aircraft into the Nigerian Air Force’s arsenal a
few months ago was highlighted as a testament to the government’s dedication to promoting patriotism
and investing in national security.

Tinubu stressed the necessity of acquiring helicopters and aircraft to optimize the strategic utilization of
air power in combating terrorism, insurgency, and other security threats afflicting the country. He urged
security forces to elevate their performance in addressing these challenges.

Reflecting on the Nigerian Air Force’s pivotal role in national security, peacekeeping, and humanitarian
operations globally since its establishment in 1964, Tinubu expressed satisfaction with the enhanced
coordination among security agencies.

However, he emphasized that celebrations should be withheld until the security impasse is resolved,
troops are returned to their localities, and resources are redirected towards critical economic expansion
programs.
