The family of Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, has rejected the Federal High Court’s decision sentencing him to life imprisonment.

In a statement, the family said the ruling ignored constitutional protections and prior court decisions. They also questioned the use of transition clauses, arguing that previous acquittals should have ended earlier charges.

Kanu was convicted on seven counts of terrorism. He received life sentences on five counts, 20 years on one, and five years on another.
