The Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service NIS, Kemi Nandap has dismantled all unauthorized checkpoints along Nigeria’s border posts.
Nandap, instead, ordered routine patrols to completely forestall dangerous and unauthorized elements from entering into the Country.
This was as the immigration boss also ordered the immediate submission of audit reports on manpower and logistics.
Service Spokesman, DCI Kenneth Udo in a statement made available to newsmen today in Abuja said the CGIS gave the order at a meeting with Comptrollers of Border Commands and Commanders at the Service Headquarters.
According to him, the decision is aimed at ensuring efficient border security and migration management which are core mandates of the Immigration Service.
