Nigeria and Brazil have signed five Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) to enhance trade, diplomacy, science, aviation, and finance co-operations.
Witnessing the signing on Monday during his State Visit to Brazil, President Tinubu emphasized Nigeria’s readiness to partner with Brazil on technology transfer, food security, manufacturing, and renewable energy.
At a joint press conference in BrasĂlia, the Nigerian Leader also welcomed Petrobras’s imminent return to Nigeria, five years after Brazil’s state-owned oil company halted its joint venture operations.
Meanwhile, President Tinubu has assured Brazilian investors that Nigeria’s ongoing economic reforms are delivering tangible results, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to strengthen partnerships in technology transfer, food security, manufacturing, and renewable energy.
The President who gave the assurance in BrasĂlia, during a meeting with Ministers of both countries and members of the Brazil Business Group, noted that Nigeria’s economic space remains a virgin land, full of opportunities for Brazilian companies.
The President further stressed the need for investment and knowledge exchange on healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
President Lula of Brazil in his speech welcomed the restart of the Brazil-Nigeria relationship, stating that there are many possibilities for synergy between the world’s two largest countries with Black populations. He added that Agriculture and livestock, oil and gas, fertilisers, aircraft, and machinery, among others, represent wide avenues for cooperation”.
