The Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has cautioned domestic airlines against telling passengers that ticket refunds take up to four weeks, stating this violates its existing regulations.
According to the NCAA, all airlines are mandated to process ticket refunds within 14 days, as outlined in Part 19 of the NCAA Regulations 2023.
Michael Achimugu, NCAA’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, issued the warning in a statement on X (formerly Twitter), emphasizing that airlines cannot set their own refund timelines outside what the law allows.
He also urged affected passengers to report any such four-week refund claims to the NCAA for prompt investigation.
