In a bid to eradicate crude oil theft in the country, the military high command has said that it is monitoring the Prosecution of culprits perpetrating crude oil theft just as it arrested 71 persons involved in crude oil theft in the month of August alone.
The Director Defence Media Operations (DDMO) Maj. Gen. Edward Buba who made the disclosure while briefing newsmen on military operations across the country today in Abuja, also called for more transparency by the International Oil Companies And accurate metering in the sector.
On its operational successes in other zones, General Buba said within the month alone, its troops arrested 767 suspected terrorists, while several gunrunners across the country and a high number of women involved in the act were also apprehended, adding that within this period its troops neutralized over 7 wanted terrorists’ leaders.
