Lionel Messi has emerged as a surprise target for Turkish champions Galatasaray, with reports in Turkey claiming the club has opened talks over a short-term deal. The Inter Miami star is considering the move to stay match-fit ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
Veteran commentator Levent Tüzemen said Messi would accept the switch only if he plays exclusively in Istanbul, ruling out away fixtures. The proposed agreement would cover 12 matches at RAMS Park, where Galatasaray still have key home games in domestic and European competitions.
If the deal goes through, the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner will link up with Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen, who has impressed since joining the Super Lig leaders. Galatasaray are now weighing the financial and sporting implications as the transfer window approaches its deadline.
