Manchester United hold Liverpool to goalless draw, as Arsenal head back to top

Sports

Manchester United ended Liverpool’s perfect record at Anfield on Sunday, holding the
Premier League title chasers to a 0-0 draw.

The stalemate ensured Arsenal moved back top of the table, after 2-nil win over Brighton, Manchester City drew 2-2 with Crystal Palace, before jetting off to Saudi Arabia to play in the Club World Cup. Aston Villa beat Brentford 2-1, West Ham beat Wolves 3-0.

Other results saw Newcastle United beat Fulham 3-nil, Burnley lost 2-nil to Everton, and Chelsea beat Sheffield United 2-nil.

The weekend’s Premier League action was overshadowed by a shocking incident at Bournemouth, where Luton captain Tom Lockyer suffered a cardiac arrest, forcing Saturday’s game to be abandoned.
