The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested five youths, including a bride and groom, for allegedly holding a marriage ceremony without parental approval.
According to Deputy Commander General Dr. Mujahideen Aminuddeen, the couple and three others involved acted without legal guardians and used a dowry of ₦10,000 below Islamic legal standards.
The board said the act violated both religious and cultural marriage protocols.
