The South East Caucus of the House of Representatives has called for the resignation of JAMB Registrar Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, citing a “catastrophic institutional failure” during the 2025 UTME affected by technical glitches, which affected nearly 380,000 students.
The caucus said the Board’s response has been grossly inadequate, while also lamenting poor communication, scheduling conflicts with ongoing WAEC examinations, and the short notice given for the resit exams.
It called for the immediate cancellation of the 2025 UTME and the fixing of a new date, preferably after WAEC and NECO exams, to ensure no student is disadvantaged.
They also seek the suspension of key JAMB officials, calling current remedial efforts grossly inadequate and harmful to students’ futures.
