The Recording Academy took a moment during the 2025 Grammy Awards to honor those we’ve lost in the music industry this year. Coldplay’s Chris Martin kicked off the annual In Memoriam segment, delivering a heartfelt performance of “All My Love” with a four-string orchestra.
Following Martin’s performance, a special tribute video for Liam Payne was shared. Earlier in the evening, the Grammys also honored music legend Quincy Jones, who passed away on November 3 at age 91. With an incredible career spanning decades, Jones was nominated for 80 Grammy Awards and won 28. The tribute included powerful performances from artists such as Stevie Wonder, Herbie Hancock, Jaco Collier, Lainey Wilson, and Janelle Monáe.
The ceremony also acknowledged the tragic Los Angeles wildfires that began on January 7, which claimed the lives of 29 people and left tens of thousands displaced.
