Nigeria’s Under-17 female football team, Flamingos, have qualified for the 2025 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Morocco which will feature 24 teams for the very first time.
The Flamingos battled for supremacy to be one of the countries to represent the African continent in the World Cup, after they played a goalless draw with Algeria, from a 4-0 first-leg advantage, to advance 4-nil on aggregate.
The Flamingos will now be one of Africa’s five representatives (including hosts Morocco) at this year’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup finals taking place from October 17 to November 5.
