The Federal Government has shifted the 2023 National Population and Housing Census earlier scheduled to commence on March 29th till May 2023.
Briefing State House Correspondent after the Federal Executive Council (FEC) presided by President Muhammadu Buhari in Abuja, the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, while announcing the council’s approval of N2.8 billion for the National Population Commission (NPC) to procure some software to be used for the conduct of the census, said the shift is due to the rescheduled elections.
Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that Minister of State for Finance, Budget and National Planning, Clement Agba disclosed that the Council approved the Nigeria Agenda 2050, a long-term plan aimed at increasing real GDP growth by seven per cent, creating 165 million new jobs and reducing the number of people living in poverty to 2.1 million in 2050, from the 83 million people estimated in 2020.
