The Minister of Interior, Hon. (Dr.) Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has ordered an immediate investigation into the prison break at the Koton Karfe Correctional Centre in Kogi State.

In a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Babatunde Alao, the minister described the incident as unfortunate and assured that all fleeing inmates would be recaptured using the service’s biometric database and deployed technology solutions.

He also directed the Acting Controller General of the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS), Sylvester Ndidi, to visit the facility, assess the situation, and conduct a thorough audit to determine the circumstances surrounding the breach.
