The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has approved the completion of four major road projects inherited from the past administration.
Minister of Works, David Umahi, briefing newsmen in Abuja after FEC meeting, said the projects include the dualization of Odupani-Itu-Idedem Road in Cross-River and Akwa-Ibom states for ₦55 billion, as well as the Ibadan-Ilorin Road (Ogbomosho section) for ₦147 billion. Umahi said other projects approved are the completion of Abuja-Kaduna-Zaria-Kano Road (section two) for ₦507 billion and a flyover at Abakpa, Enugu, for ₦24 billion, adding that contractors have been selected for each project, ensuring smooth execution to ease transportation across the country.Â
Our Correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that Minister of Aviation and and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo disclosed that the Council approved ₦1.09 billion for the insurance of airports and staff, for one year across Nigeria, in a significant move to protect important assets and meet international safety standards.
Meanwhile, another FEC meeting is expected to hold on Wednesday.
