Countries around the world are bracing for the latest round of United States tariffs after President Donald Trump said “all countries” would be targeted.
As uncertainty over the likely announcement today continues to agitate global stocks, Trump has promised to be “very kind” in addressing what he says are unfair trade imbalances.
Reacting to the development, UK Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, said the UK government has been preparing for tariffs by trying to avoid them, and must be “cool and calm” in response to whatever taxes are unleashed by the US. However, the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, is warning that it’s ready to retaliate against the US if Trump imposes import tariffs on its products
