133 cardinals will gather later this evening in the Sistine Chapel to vote for the Catholic Church’s 267th pope.
The day will start with a mass at 10:00 AM in St. Peter’s Basilica, before the cardinals, proceed to the Sistine Chapel where they will take an oath of secrecy, and the conclave will officially begin.
Ballots will be cast, and while the first vote often doesn’t result in an election, it will reveal which candidates have gained initial support.
All the while, the catholic faithful will await the white smoke signaling the election of a new pope.
