The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede has reaffirmed the Army’s resolve to intensify onslaught against the Lakurawa terrorist group in order to totally eradicate the group.
Speaking with State House correspondents after a private meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, Lt.General Oluyede who recently visited various army formations across the country, said the Nigerian Army and their counterparts in Chad, Niger, and other neighbouring countries will ensure sustained efforts and patrols to combat cross-border insurgency.
Our correspondent, Raliat Adenekan reports that General Oluyede revealed that efforts were being made to explore alternative strategies to tackle insecurity and improve the nation’s security situation.
Speaking on his visit to Aso Villa, he said he reassured Mr President of his best to make Nigeria better in terms of security, while seeking his continued support for the Nigerian troops across all formations.
